Worldwide News Arvato opens new logistics center in Hong Kong The internationally operating technology service provider Arvato is consistently advancing on the way to implementing its growth strategy. In efforts to continue to foster its activities in Asia, the service provider opened a new logistics center in Hong Kong at the beginning of September, which is aimed at globally operating customers in the IT and high tech industry. The new customer services center was officially inaugurated by Mitat Aydindag, Managing Director at Arvato Asia. In front of an audience including a representative from the German Consulate General Hong Kong, customers and suppliers, he said, “Asia is at the core of Arvato’s internationalization activities. This new facility in Hong Kong boasts perfect parameters to become one of our most important logistics hubs in Asia.” Aydindag added that setting up the facility represented a strategically important investment in a vital growth market. The storage and distribution center covers approximately 14,000 m² and lies in the Tuen Mun industrial estate. It is dedicated to providing integrated logistics services for the future. The location boasts excellent infrastructure links and space for additional, new customers. More than 40 of the service provider’s employees are currently working for Sennheiser as well as a smartphone and computer manufacturer from the US. At present approximately 340,000 items are picked, localized, and distributed throughout Asia from four levels, using eight loading ramps.
