Product News Kalmar

Product News Kalmar introduces a new member of the Gloria reach stacker family Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has announced the launch of its new Gloria reach stacker specifically designed for empty and semi-laden container handling. With the ability to handle all types of containers, flat racks and single loads of up to 10 tons, the DRG100 is the latest addition to Kalmar’s successful Gloria range of reach stackers. Empty containers can now be transported at full width, turned 45° or lengthwise at 90°, making it possible to deliver “end-on” into and through low workshop doors, port sheds and other confined spaces. The operator is able to select from three ECO Drive Modes, effectively matching the performance of the machine to the type of application and contributing up to a 20% saving on fuel. The DRG100 also comes fully equipped with electronic tools and an easy to use Kalmar information colour display with intuitive Human-Machine Interface. A distributed and redundant CAN-bus technology constantly monitors the engine, transmission, hydraulics and spreader functions to provide the operator with real-time data to help maximise uptime. Lynx SRX II operates autonomously, safely and flexibly The Swiss company, Smart RobotX, that specializes in robot technology is relying on autonomous transport systems from Adept Technologyfor its newly developed Lynx SRX II system. With the help of intelligent technology, the SRX II automated guided vehicles navigate autonomously and safely through a defined work space without changing the infrastructure. The basic system, which is robust, has a simple design, and is easy to use, consists of the industrial truck including lifting equipment, acceptance and delivery stations, battery charging dock, control and application software. Thanks to the comparably low investment costs and high level of flexibility, the systems can also be implemented in areas where autonomous auxiliary equipment has hardly ever been adopted. In addition to standard intralogistic and production applications, these mobile aids are perfect for the chemical, pharmaceutical industries as well as hospitals and laboratories. New Cube hazardous goods warehouse of Denios The technical requirements for modern hazardous substances warehousing systems have risen continuously in recent years. In addition to protection against fire and water, equipment features such as air conditioning, access control or an option for remote query are becoming more important for users. Cube, the new hazardous substances warehouse in the Denios product family, shows how these requirements can be met already today with a modern space concept. Cube is manufactured as a one or two-field container as requested by the customer. The interior area alone opens up individual possibilities for users. Conventional warehousing tasks are also possible, for example the installation of test equipment for lithium-ion batteries or company IT. The new system for hazardous substances storage features a spaceoptimized shelf warehouse design. The optional equipment packages also cover a wide range. The heating thermo package is used to ensure frost-free storage of hazardous substances. The climate control thermo package provides storage in a defined temperature range. The collecting tray in the acid/ alkaline package is protected against corrosion with additional inliners for storing acids and alkaline solutions in compliance with legal requirements. The light package ensures optimal illumination of the inside area and apron, while the access control package protects the warehouse against unauthorized access. The Cube can optionally be equipped with a digital sensor system. Sensor packages for fire protection, hazardous goods storage and temperature are available. 20 f+h Intralogistics 3/2015

Yale adds weather protection package for electric forklift truck to its product line Yale has made the electric counterbalanced forklift truck type ERP22-35VL fit for applications in harsh environments with a new weather protection package. The package includes an extended motor protection plate, side covers and protection of the drive axle and travel motors in compliance with IP54. Sleeves also protect the tilt cylinders to ensure no fine particles can penetrate, saving wear on gaskets. The product range also includes a package for protection against splash water and corrosion that provides total protection for electrical connections against moisture, deposits and dust. To protect the operator in outdoor applications, weather protection with doors can be mounted on the standard overhead guard. VL series stackers are available for medium and heavy duty applications and with load capacities from 2,200 to 3,500 kg. Clutch brake system from sys-T-matic helps save money Conveyor belt systems only work as efficiently as the clutch brake system. The design of the clutch brake system from sys-T-matic has increased the service life in comparison to standard systems. Standard, closed conveyor belt systems can sustain around 1.5 to 2 million switching cycles, while sys-T-matic claims its development can sustain at least six million switching cycles. The unit can be integrated into existing systems using an adapter. The required conversion time is around ten minutes. Following extensive testing since 2011, a mail service provider has become the first large customer to continuously retrofit its distribution center with thousands of these clutch brake systems. A decisive factor is the reliability of the unit. Consulting & Engineering Across the Supply Chain The Miebach Consulting Group was founded in 1973 in Frankfurt, Germany by Dr. Ing.
