MAchine Elements 01 02 03 04 01 The acoustic hose for vehicle air conditioning systems muffles noise, thus making expensive technical solutions like mufflers and tuned masses superfluous 02 The new lightweight generation of oil and coolant hoses from ContiTech are mainly used in the engine peripherals 03 The electrically conductive fuel hose from ContiTech prevents static load at high flow speeds 04 The versatile oil line exhibits shape stability and flexibility at the same time and feeding the resulting gas into the engine to assist the motor and thereby optimize fuel consumption. ContiTech is already developing hose lines especially for this application. Dual fuel, the combined injection of gas and diesel fuels, is another topic for the future that ContiTech is currently working on. The newest generation of fuel hoses provides the ideal basis for further development in this direction. The new Conti Tech elastomer fuel lines have been adapted to the ever increasing pressures and temperatures in engine compartments. They are currently stable up to an operating pressure of 35 bar and temperatures of up to 135 °C. An increase to these parameters is currently being tested at ContiTech. The emerging trend, primarily in Europe and North America, of using alternative fuels is supported by ContiTech with hose lines for gases like CNG and LNG. So when it comes to lines for all media flow types, manufacturers are optimally equipped with solutions from ContiTech for current and future challenges in the industry. Safe power transmission Special vehicle manufacturer Scheuerle also knows this and is relying on ContiTech connection technology in its new Non Cassette Carrier. The vehicle, designed for transporting enormous sheet metal packages without pallets, is unique in the world and can transport cargo loads of up to 250 tons, i.e. as many as 10 jumbo jets. Conti Tech fluid technology ensures safe power transmission between the individual elements. The reliable hydraulic couplings allow vehicles to become super transporters and supply external components with oil. The Non-Cassette Carrier is driven by a MAN 338 kW six-cylinder engine. A large number of ContiTech hoses and lines are used here also: the company supplies the resonator for the compressed air line, which stops noise from developing, hoses for the hot and cold side of the turbocharger, the air intake for the turbocharger, and the crankcase ventilation and coolant lines.
